So its that time of year where the lights are up the presents are under the tree and its time to pack up and head back home along with the million other students going from far and wide for the festive holidays...
But there are some things to remember before you leave your flat and flatmates and head back to your family and friends for a relaxing time, so here are my five top tips for leaving for Christmas;
1. Make sure your empty your fridge don't rely on those leaving after you to clear them! There's nothing worse than getting back after a month and realising that bottle of milk you were meant to throw out is still sitting there cause no one else had the sense to do it!
2. Empty your bin... OK might sound like an obvious one but believe me not everyone thinks of it, in the past two days since I've been home I've seen several status' and tweets about people forgetting to empty their bin before they left and then remembering they put the left-overs of a sandwich or a yogurt in before they left... that's going to smell lovely when they return!
3.Check you have everything; Pants, Socks, Trousers, Wash Kit, PJ's, Shoes, Dresses, Cosmetics and Electronics... EVERYTHING cause you don't want to arrive home and BAM you forgot your phone charger and you only have 10% battery life left and its £20 to replace it (been there done that... its no fun!) and also remember to lock up and turn off everything!
4.Don't leave in a mood, if you've had an argument with a flatmate or uni-mate sort it before you leave you don't want to get back and there be the eminent awkwardness until someone says something...
5.GET DRUNK! before you leave its vital to go out and have that last blow out before everyone leaves as a early new years celebration/ any excuse for a night out because that's just what students do!
Hope everyone has a great Christmas and a Happy New Year,
Stay safe
