Debates...

So at some point in University most people are going to have to partake in a debate no matter what the subject...

But something to keep in mind, ALWAYS MAKE NOTES! if you don't make notes and prepare your going to be sitting there looking like a lemon saying nothing and if like with my debate it counts toward your grade you'll get a zero!

So here are a few of my tips to preparing for a debate or discussion;

1.Read the question or statement carefully and thoroughly and if you don't 100% understand ask your lecturer to help you they'd rather you ask for help than fail because you tried to battle through on your own.

2.Think about what your going to argue and make sure that it actually fights what your meant to be. Whether your fighting for or against make sure you actually are there's nothing worse than fighting the wrong side.

3.Find facts and statistics to back up your argument, find tables, percentages, government statistics and proven facts and even images that can back you up and help fight your side.

4. Don't back down! No matter what the opposition say have a come back ready, DON'T BACK DOWN ON YOUR OPINION!!

So they are probably my most important points on how to prepare and be in a debate, so good luck with future discussions and debates guys...
